Ryan Taylor fought his way to the lane a hit a floating shot with 6 seconds remaining to send Evansville past Fresno State and into the championship game of the Riviera Division.
The Aces (5-0) protected a 57-54 lead for a long stretch as the second half drew to a close, but Fresno State's Deshon Taylor was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 37 seconds remaining. He hit all three free throws, setting up the next possession for Evansville. Ryan Taylor came off a screen and made heavy contact with a defender before taking and making the last shot.
Ryan Taylor had 21 points for Evansville; Blake Simmons added 11 points as the Aces survived their 17 turnovers. They did hit eight of 12 3-point attempts.
Fresno State (2-2) was a solid 8-for-20 from long range, but just 5-of-14 from the free-throw line. Deshon Taylor had 12 points, and both Bryson Williams and Jahmel Taylor had 11 points. Williams came through with 11 rebounds.
Evansville and Louisiana Tech will play at 8:30 p.m. ET for the Riviera Division crown; the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
