Louisiana Tech built a lead as large as 26 points in the second half against George Mason, and the Bulldogs held on as the Patriots rallied late to secure the win and a berth in Wednesday's Riviera Division championship game against Evansville. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET with the game to be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
Jacobi Boykins hit five 3-pointers and scored 18 points for Louisiana Tech (4-0), with Derric Jean right behind with 17 points and five rebounds. Jalen Harris and Daquan Bracey each added 10 points as the Bulldogs hit 11 3-pointers and shot 47 percent from the field.
George Mason (3-2) used a couple of scoring runs to make it interesting, closing to 69-58 with 2:53 left on two free throws from Otis Livingston. But the Patriots ended up just 4-of-25 from 3-point range and had just seven assists on the night.
