Green Bay's notoriously tough defense held Columbia to 31 percent shooting from the field, and redshirt freshman Karly Murphy had a career-high 13 points for the Phoenix in the leadoff game of the women's Cancun Challenge.
Green Bay (4-0) took an 11-point lead after one quarter and was in control the rest of the way. Jessica Lindstrom added 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Frankie Wurtz came through with 10 points.
Neither team shot the ball well from 3-point range, combining to go just 3-for-27 overall, but Green Bay forced 15 turnovers and had a 37-29 edge I rebounds.
Columbia (2-3) got 10 points and six rebounds from Camille Zimmerman.
