Big second half propels Wildcats over Tigers 80-61 in the final day of the Cancun Challenge11/24/2018 The Kansas State Wildcats take down the Princeton Tigers 80-61 in the final day of the 2018 women’s Cancun Challenge played at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.
Peyton Williams scored 23 points and pulled down 7 rebounds for the Wildcats. Williams hit 8 of our last 9 shots in the ballgame. Christianna Carr finished with 22, Rachel Ranke with 15 and Kayla Goth added 9 with a game-high 8 assists. Carlie Littlefield paced Princeton with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Gabrielle Rush finished with a double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Princeton led at halftime 42-34 and by as many as 9 points in the second quarter, but struggled in the second half going 5 of 29 from the field. The Wildcats scored 26 points in the third quarter while holding the Tigers to 8. The Wildcats improve to 4-2 on the season and will next face Vanderbilt at home on Dec. 2 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Princeton falls to 1-6 and will take on Villanova on Nov. 28 in Philadelphia. |
